RIBA Festival of Learning

What role can architects play in combating climate breakdown and biodiversity loss?

For the final day of The RIBA Festival of Learning, architects Grimshaw, Tate Harmer, Arboreal, Hayhurst & Co. and host of artists and educators took over the RIBA’s iconic headquarters for a day dedicated to climate action. Creative workshops throughout the day encourage families to design, draw, make and build big in ways that explore sustainability, climate change and our impact on the planet.

How can we reuse plastic to help nature thrive? Bottle Garden workshop invited the public to take part on the drop-in workshop and make their own self-watering hanging planters from plastic waste. Through exploring different upcycling techniques families learnt how to use recycled materials for positive change.
